New Dates for U.S.-Africa Business Summit
Posted Date 2015/08/27 23:32

Washington, DC —
Washington, DC, Aug. 24, 2015 – The premier summit on U.S.-Africa business and investment, The Corporate Council on Africa’s U.S.-Africa Business Summit, is being rescheduled to immediately follow the African Union annual Heads of State meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on January 31. The new conference dates are February 1-4, 2016.

The U.S.-Africa Business Summit 2016 will be a distinctly different conference. “This will be the best and most comprehensive opportunity for American businesses to understand the diverse markets of Africa and create the relationships necessary to do business on the continent," says organization President Stephen Hayes. This the first CCA Summit in Africa since 2007, and it will also mark the conference’s 10th anniversary. This Summit will feature leading American and African Corporations looking for new deals and initiatives, as well as hundreds of smaller innovative companies and businesses. There will also be several new features unique to this conference including site visits to manufacturing facilities around Addis and a dedicated business-to-business networking center. Following the AU annual summit, it will also attract select Heads of State.

The 2016 Summit is an important follow-up to the historic U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit hosted by President Obama last year. More than 1,000 private sector and government representatives from every region in Africa, the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East are expected. The Summit offers a unique and powerful opportunity to network with leaders in African investment, in one place, at one time.

Ethiopia has been highlighted as the destination for business at the World Economic Forum, Africa in June and is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa according to the World Bank. Addis Ababa, home of the African Union and growing international business hub, will provide the ideal setting for building new partnerships and expanding your business. CCA has a deep expertise and a long standing relationship with the government of Ethiopia, and can offer unique guidance to potential investors. We are proud to showcase Ethiopia and its impressive development.

The Corporate Council on Africa’s membership represents nearly 85% of total U.S. private sector investments in Africa and they will be well represented at the conference. High level delegations from Turkey, UAE and the EU will also be attending to look for partnerships with US and African businesses. “Special round tables and business sessions, will offer an opportunity to explore partnerships with other international companies and focus on new markets,” says Hayes.

The 2016 U.S.-Africa Business Summit is sponsored by AstraZeneca, Chevron Corporation, ExxonMobil Corporation, Symbion Power, Ethiopian Airlines and South African Airways.
